Financial Literacy Education in Ontario: An Exploratory Study of Elementary Teachers’ Perceptions, Attitudes, and Practices

Politicians are pushing school boards to do more ensure students leave with the financial literacy skills they will need navigate an increasingly complex marketplace. Financial education must start early achieve this goal, yet there has been very little Canadian research on at elementary level. This exploratory study used anonymous, online survey gain a preliminary understanding of full-time Ontario teachers’ perceptions, attitudes, and practices respect education. Respondents overwhelmingly favour teaching in school. Almost half respondents currently incorporate into their classroom practice. These teachers rely primarily free, resources.
